While the massacres continue to cause injuries and murders in different cities in the United States, we at    Genesis Alliance continue to preach the power of the gospel. As the government tries to stop the drug traffickers, who with their drugs affect entire families in our communities, we seek to free the captives from these addictive and deadly substances. Today I want to introduce you to one of those people who have been reached with the power of the gospel.

 

Jesús López is a 28-year-old man. He was invited by one of our  members in the church to the Wednesday Bible study.  Jesus came   seeking freedom from his addictions. He asked for prayer that God would help him. We invited him to return to a men's group that meets on Fridays. He agreed but Satan had an unexpected play for him. His friends invited him to go out and use narcotic substances again. Under the influence of these substances, Jesús drove his vehicle with which he had an accident causing him to have broken arms and legs. In addition, the vehicle caught on fire and Jesús could not get out of it. When assistance of firefighters and paramedics arrived, he had suffered 90% burns in his body. He was at a hospital in a coma for 4 weeks. As a  result, Jesús lost his left arm, his ear, and his left eye. And he also lost the fingers of his right hand. However, God kept him alive today and he is now a follower of Christ Jesus.

 

The future is challenging for this young man, but his spirit is admirable. He wants to go on with Christ. He does not miss church meetings. He will go through several surgeries and all the while keeping his spirits strong. He already has several plans in what type of jobs he can do once he has undergone surgeries and has a prosthesis placed.

 

Jesus is a person who has been freed from the bondage of sin, addictions and above all from the path of spiritual death. Today, he inspired us with his faith and good cheer. This inspires us to continue to preach the power of the gospel to people held captive by sin as God continues to rescue the lost through Jesus.
